Obituary for Daisy Wallen
Daisy Wallen, age 91, of Olustee, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, September 28th, 1994 in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Services have been scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Falknor officiating. Burial will be in the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home, followed by the family receiving guests at the Olustee Community Center.

Mrs. Wallen was born September 11th, 1903 in McKinny, Texas to W.T. and Cassie D. (Allison) Carrell . She married Fred Lee VanZant in 1922 and he preceded her in death. She married Steve Wallen on January 23, 1947 in Chicago, IL. Daisy moved back to Olustee in 1965, after their retirement.

Mrs. Wallen was a member of the Olustee First Baptist Church, Home Extension member, Ladies Club of Olustee and was well-known for her tatted handwork.

The family asks that memorials may be made to the Olustee Baptist Church in Daisy's name, instead of flowers. The family will be receiving visitors at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home from 7 to 9 P.M. Friday evening.

Survivors include: her husband, Steve Wallen of the home; two children, Julia Thomas of Cincinnati, OH and Doris Sierer of Altus, OK; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; two daughters, Wilena Hudson and Juanita Maschmeier; several brothers and sisters.
