Danny Mack Saturday
Danny Mack Mains age 46 of Olustee, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, January 22, 2000 at Southwester Medical Center in Lawton, Oklahoma after a lengthy illness. He was born November 1, 1953 in Altus, Oklahoma to Samuel Frederick and Lavon (Hollis) Mains McMahan. On February 11, 1972 in Vernon, Texas Danny and Carol Ann Ballard were united in marriage. He graduated Navajo High School in 1971. He spent much of his career in the automotive field with Wilmes Ford as Service Manager and with the local Autozone store here in Altus. Danny served on the Olustee Board of Education for 12 years and with the Olustee Fire Department of 11 years. He retired with the Fire Department December 9, 1998. He served o the Jackson County Fair Board and worked with the Jackson County 4-H for many years. He coached Little League and spent many Saturday evenings as an official at the Altus Speedway and the Sooner International Speedway. Danny served as an elder at First Presbyterian Church until 1996. Later Danny became very active at the First Baptist Church in Olustee. He served as the Sunday School Director and Prayer Director. Danny was very devoted to his family and Altus
Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday January 24 2000 at 2:00 PM in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Edwin Wiginton II officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife Carl Ann of the home in Olustee, Oklahoma, three children, Danny Mack Mains II and wife Cynthia of Olustee, Oklahoma. Carla Fancher and husband Tony of Altus, Oklahoma, Tiffany Bearden of Olustee, Oklahoma, his Mother, Lavon McMahan of Olustee, Oklahoma; his father, Sam Mains and wife Julia of Vian, Oklahoma, two brothers, Sam Mains of Golden Colorado, Michael Mains and wife Carla of Tulsa, Oklahoma , grandmother, Marion Mains of Altus, Oklahoma, one grandson, Kolbie Mac Fancher of Altus, Oklahoma, Brother-in-law, Tommy Ballard and wife Joan of "Altus, Oklahoma, three sisters-in-law, Teresa Wilkie and husband Glenn of Fredericksburg, Texas, Kathy Monday and Tammy Ballard, both of Altus, Oklahoma, mother-in-law, Lula Ballard also of Altus, Oklahoma.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Fred Mains; grandparents, Lillian and Alton Hollis, step-father John Robert McMahan, father-in-law, Carl Ballard.
Memorials may be made to the Olustee First Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Danny Mack Mains.
