David Lee Bradford, age 68, of Altus, passed away early Monday morning, September 22, 2014, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, in Altus.
Mr. Bradford was born in Quanah, Texas on October 11, 1945, to Mack and Gladys (Blassingame) Bradford. After attending Quanah High School, David moved to San Antonio, Texas where he worked in construction. While in San Antonio, he enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country in Germany and Viet Nam. After his return from Viet Nam, he moved back to Quanah where he married the love of his life, Sharon Kay Denham, on April 25, 1969, and they spent the next forty-five wonderful years together before his death. After their marriage, they spent a short time in Abilene, Texas before moving to Southwest Oklahoma. David spent many years with the National Guard and Civil Service as a mechanic. In his spare time David enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, reading, tinkering on electrical motors and doing mechanic work.
Preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Bennie Denham, he is survived by his wife, of the home, Sharon Kay Bradford; five children, Missie Melton and husband Doug of Calhoun, Georgia, Belinda Bennett of Altus, Mary Sue Colbert and husband Earl of Quanah, April Nall and husband Floyd, Jr. of Altus and Mack Bradford of Altus; thirteen grandchildren, Harley, Veronica, David Jamey, Jessica, Tammy, Daphanie, Katy-Rose, Ryan, Randall, Mackenzie, Mercedes and Dixie; four great-grandchildren, Kadence, Gage, Belle and Annabelle; one sister, Mary Jo Bradford of Wichita Falls, Texas; two brothers, Max Keith Bradford and wife Betty of Texas and Cleo Bradford and wife LaJuan of Quanah along with many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for David Lee Bradford will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation services have been entrusted to Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, in Altus.
