David Shatswell, 55-year-old lifelong resident of Blair, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019 in Hedley, Texas.
David was born in Altus, Oklahoma on October 1, 1963 to his parents, Kenneth M. Shatswell and Lois LaDene (Cargal) Vickery. In his early years David worked as an over the road Truck Driver and later worked as a Drywall Installer for many years. David loved being outdoors and going Coyote hunting with his Greyhounds, fishing, and working on his tractors. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and he will be missed very much.
Preceded in death by his father, Kenneth M. Shatswell; David is survived by his mother, LaDene Vickery and husband Sam of Blair; five children, Patrick Shatswell of Indiana; Dustin Shatswell and wife Jacklyn of Hedley, Texas; Ariel Shatswell of Altus; Nathan Shatswell and wife Jenny of Mangum; and Devan Shatswell of Altus; his brother, Kenneth Dale Shatswell of Blair; his sister, Sheila Reed and husband Brian of Snyder; numerous grandchildren; three nephews; numerous other family members as well as many friends.
Funeral services will at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Blair, Oklahoma with Pastor Tyler McDowell officiating.
Burial will follow at Blair Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
