Obituary for Deloris Marlene "Marty" Jessup
Deloris Marlene "Marty" Jessup passed away Friday, March 16, 2012, at her home in Altus at the age of 70.
Marty was born November 20, 1941, in Kokomo, Indiana, to Emil and Merle (Cooper) Snyder. She was the 9th of 11 children, including 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Marty married Gary Jessup on November 17, 1962, in Kokomo. They had three children"Karla, Kary, and Kathryn (Kass) Deweese"all of whom live in Altus. As a military family, they moved to Altus in 1969, and it has been home to Marty since that time. She also has two grandsons (Kory Wade and Kayle Croft) and many friends in the community.
Marty enjoyed reading, dancing, singing, and following current events, with a special interest in our military. She especially enjoyed Sunday dinners with family. Marty was one-of-a-kind and loved to laugh and enjoy others. Possessing a special gift of interacting with people, Marty never met a stranger. Marty is survived by her husband Gary and their three children, Karla, Kary, and Kass Deweese; son-in-law Trevor Deweese; one sister; one brother; her grandsons; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly. Marty will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in the name of Marty Jessup.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date by the family of Marty Jessup. Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus is in charge of arrangements.
