Obituary for Delpha Ann Wilkerson
Delpha Ann Wilkerson, age 70, a resident of Dill City for the last two years and formerly of Godley, Texas, passed away Friday, October 31, 2008 at her home in Dill City with her family by her side.
Delpha was born in Monahans, Texas on May 6, 1938 to James W. and Winnie Bell (Murphy) Brown. On June 2, 1991, she married Vergil Wilkerson in Watauga, Texas and they were married for over 16 years before his death on April 24, 2008. Delpha loved dancing and enjoyed working outside in the yard and in the garden and she also liked watchjing birds. She loved her family and her grandchildren very much and she will be missed greatly.
Preceded in death by her husband Vergil; one son, Rodney Adams; and one brother, Walter Brown. Delpha is survived by her three children, Rhonda McElroy of Dill City; Ricky Williams and his wife Peggy of Dill City; Vickie Lewallen and her husband Kenny of Elk City; eleven grandchildren, Jason, Christopher, Russell, Tracy, Ricky, Jr., Katey, Rodrick, Eric, Brock, Brant and Kyle; six great-grandchildren, Brooklen, Drew, Lynden, Caden, Logan and Alex; one special nephew, Walter Brown, Jr of Sayer; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Services for Delpha Ann Wilkerson will be on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus with Chaplain Randy Weaver officiating. Inurnment ceremonies will be later in the week in Elk City under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory of Altus.
