Obituary for Dennie A. Holt
Dennis Holt, (Mrs Roscoe C. Holt) age 104, died Sunday, February 23, 1997, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She was born September 20, 1892, at Brownfield, Texas. She moved to Oklahoma Indian Territory as a small child with her parents, they late Mr and Mrs John D. Bailey, who were among the founders of the community. Dennis (Bailey) Holt and Roscoe C. Holt were united in marriage at Altus, Oklahoma. Mr. Holt preceded her in death January 18, 1953. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Euzelian Sunday School as well as the Daughters of the American Revolution organization. She was educated in the old town of Navajoe and Headrick schools and completed her education at O.C.W. College for women in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, February 26, 1997 at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Keith Wiginton. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Survivors include children; Virginia Thomas and husband Gordon of Altus, Oklahoma; B ullie Sue Guysi and husband George S. of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Judith S. Murray, Steven Holt Thomas, Robert Hailey Thomas, Holt Guysi, Scott Guysi; 5 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, husband; Roscoe C. Holt; 6 brothers, 3 sisters.
