Obituary for Dominga Dominguez
Dominga Dominguez, 68, of Irving, Texas passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019, with her family by her side. She was born on November 26, 1950 in Big Spring, Texas, the daughter of Domingo Vargas and Alifonsa Zapata. Dominga grew up on a farm where she worked and helped watch over her younger siblings. She moved to Hollis, Oklahoma in 1960. In November of 1967, she married the love of her life Jose Renteria. Dominga spent many years working for the great State of Oklahoma as a care provider in the health care system, and in Hollis Public Schools, and a few restaurants throughout out the town; where she developed a love for burgers. She loved to play bingo, listening to music, dancing, having her hair and nails done, and eating out. Dominga was a connoisseur of a good greasy hamburger. Some of her favorite spots were Whataburger, Griff's and Burger Island. Most of all Dominga loved to be with her family. She adored watching her grandchildren play sports. Dominga is preceded in death by her parents, Domingo Vargas, and Alifonsa (Zapata) Vargas; daughter, Maria Guadalupe Renteria; brothers, Augustine Vargas, Marcos Vargas, Pete Vargas, Isabel Vargas, and Raymond Vargas ; and sisters; Mary Rosales, Martha Alacorta and Trina Vargas
She is survived by her loving children, Tony Renteria Jr. (Melissa), Nancy Herrera, Nicolas Renteria (Erin), Andy Renteria (Emily), Placido Renteria (Melanie); brothers, Frank Vargas (Crystal), Ruben Vargas (Tammy), David Vargas , Jesse Vargas ; sisters, Anita Rubio (Joel), Janie Renteria (Joe); 21 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; among numerous other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1-8 pm at Chism-Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 24. Visitation in Oklahoma will be at Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, OK, on Thursday, September 26 from 6-8 pm. Funeral Services will be on September 27 at 11:00 am at Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, OK. Interment will immediately follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Hollis, OK
