Obituary for Dona Evelyn Breeding
Dona Evelyn Breeding, age 90 of Altus and formerly of Granite, Oklahoma departed this life on Monday, December 15, 1997 in the Quartz Mountain Nursing Home in Altus.
Dona was born on March 15, 1907 in Hilham, Texas to the late William Allen and Mary (Gillpatrick) Brown. She married Jere B. Breeding on June 13, 1924 in Cookeville, Tennessee. Together they lived for many years in the Granite Community where Jere preceded her in death in 1975. She later moved to Altus in 1992. Dona was a longtime member of the Granite and Altus Elm & Hudson Church of Christ.
She is survived by seven children; Gene Breeding of Granite, Oklahoma, Bob Glen Breeding of Perryton, Texas; Bill Breeding of Altus, Oklahoma; Sue Dempsey of Hobart, Oklahoma, Wendell Breeding of Granite, Oklahoma, Sam Breeding of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Max Breeding of Mangum, Oklahoma, Five daughter-in-laws; two sister-in-laws; Elizabeth Brown and Helen Brown. Eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, one infant son, Doyle; six brothers; one sister; and two granddaughters, Johna Sue Dempsey and Treanna Breeding.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 17, 1997 at 2:00 pm in the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ in Altus. Burial will follow in the Granite City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
Memorials may be made to the Westview Boys Home. Viewing for family and friends will be at the Greer Funeral Home in Granite on Tuesday and Wednesday.
