MARTIN

Donna Earlyne (Cederstrom) Martin was born to Betty Earlyne and Donald Keith Cederstrom on January 19, 1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She passed away on July 12, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Donna attended school in Boise, Idaho graduating from Borah High School in 1968. As a high school student, Donna was an avid tennis player, participated in fencing and played violin in the school orchestra. During high school she worked for Idaho Data as a keypunch operator. She took this skill to college with her and financed her education. She attended St. Theresa Women’s College in Winona, MN from 1968-1970. From Minnesota Donna moved to New York City where she worked as an executive secretary for two different firms. In 1972 Donna moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she joined her family. After working in Tulsa, Donna moved to Ft. Smith, Arkansas and met the love of her life, Glenn Martin. They were wed on July 31, 1976.

Born to this marriage were Greg Martin, Nathan Martin, and Seth Martin. While living in Ft. Smith she and her husband Glenn owned ABC Plumbing. The plumbing business was taken to Mangum, Oklahoma. The couple remained in the area and raised their boys. During their school years in Duke, Oklahoma Donna was an active supporter in their education. She taught the first computer class for Duke Schools as it was important to her that children had computer knowledge. She could be found most days at the school staying busy or at the ball fields supporting their children.

Mrs. Martin later opened the Book Nook, bookstore in the front of her husband’s plumbing company in Mangum, Oklahoma. Donna had a passion for reading. She owned the bookstore for several years, loving her customers like family. Donna never met a stranger. Glenn & Donna later purchased American Medi-Serve where she was the office manager for 20 plus years until her untimely death.

Donna enjoyed her grandchildren as much as possible. She loved playing any kind of game, especially with the grand kids. Donna was a wonderful Grammie and Mimi to her grandchildren and could often be found at ball games and school functions.

Donna was of the Baptist faith, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Duke. She enjoyed participating in USPSA pistol matches, fishing, scrapbooking, crafting, and spending time with family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Betty Remington, Don and Vee Cederstrom, and special cousin Kim Story.
