Obituary for Donna Elizabeth Lechuga
Donna Elizabeth Lechuga, age 72, longtime resident of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Donna was born on September 17, 1949 in Youngstown, Ohio to her parents Donald and Mary (Kemp) McEndree. She grew up in Barnseville, Ohio where she graduated class of 1967 from Barnesville High School. After high school, Donna lived in several places until she met the love of her life Santiago A. Lechuga, Sr. and they were married on April 12, 1980 in Hamlin, Texas. They have been together for over 57 years and happily married for over 41 years.
Donna and Santiago settled in the southwest Oklahoma area where she finished her education graduating from Western Oklahoma State College with an Associates in Applied Science. Donna worked worked at Kellwoods Sewing Factory in Altus for a brief time before becoming a licensed daycare operator in 1991. In 1991 Donna received her Directors Credentials as a Certified Childcare. She ran her own daycare from her home until 2003 when she purchased, owned and operated Kids-N-Us for several years. She sold it and returned to running her own daycare from her home in September of 2017.
Donna enjoyed sewing and watching the Hallmark Channel. She was a dedicated fan of Days of Our Lives and claims to have been watching since 1965. She loved playing bingo, going to dances and dancing. Donna had been a proud member of the WOSC Alumni since 2012. But most importantly, Donna loved her family and being a caregiver to children. She loved being with her family and her children and she especially enjoyed family get togethers and keeping in touch with everyone through social media. Donna was and always had been a loving caregiver to all her family and friends and she will be missed very much.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Mary McEndree; her daughter, Jamea D. Jasinski; two brothers, Harry McEndree and Ansel McEndree; her sister, Lova Pierce; and her son-in-law, Dean Jasinski.
Donna is survived by her husband, Santiago A. Lechuga, Sr.; her son, Santiago A. Lechuga, Jr., her daughter, Teka Henry Danielle Guzman; two brothers, Sherman McEndree and Carl McEndree; three sisters, Shirley Snyder; Connie Taylor; and Ramona Swallie; grandchildren, Chance Bara, Devon Bara, and David Moses Bara; Kenzye Guzman, Ray Guzman, and Ylexis Guzman, and Jada Nicole Guzman; great grandchildren, Camrin Bara, Kayleigh Bara, Davina Bara, Remi Bara, and Javier Thompson; as well as, a large vast number of relatives and many friends who all loved her.
The family will greet friends at visitation from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Friday evening, February 11, 2022 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus with Pastor Gregory A. Hawn officiating.
Interment will follow at Blair Cemetery in Blair, Oklahoma under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus.
