Obituary for Doris Marie Allen
Doris Marie Allen, 68, of Altus passed away Sunday, January 24, 1999 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital; she was born July 10, 1930 to late
W.L. Adams Sr. and Dorothy (Parks) Adams.
On December 18, 1948 Alvin Allen and Doris Adams were united in marriage. Doris worked as a secretary for the George C. Wright Lumber Co; as well as for Allen's salvage. Doris graduated from Southwest High School in 1948 then attended WOSC, and the University of Mexico at Monterey.
Doris's greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren, her church, and helping others. Doris was know to her friends and family as a true Prayer Warrior. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. Doris was a very dedicated pianist and church secretary for many years.
Doris is survived by one son, Rev. Michael Wayne Allen and wife JoAnn of Finger, Tennessee; two brothers, S.R. (Jelly) Adams and wife Peggy of Moses Lake, Washington, and Fred Lee Adams of Frederick, Oklahoma; one sister Helen Young of Altus, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Rev. Jeremy Allen of Finger, Tennessee, Maranda Allen of Finger, Tennessee, and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Sharon Kay Allen; two brothers, W.L. Adams, Jr. and LeRoy Adams.
Services have been scheduled for 10:00am Wednesday, January 27, 1999 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl McCoy, Bro. Lionel Mounce, and Jerry Holland officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 26, 1999 from &:00 to 8:30pm Lowell-Tims Funeral Homeis in charge of arrangements.
