Dorotha Louise Steen Lovett
Dorotha Lovett was born October 5, l927, in Hess, Oklahoma to T. H. and Ella M. (Black) Steen. She passed away August 16, 2000, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma, at the age of 72. Dorotha was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She graduated from Southside High School in May of 1945. She was a longtime member of the Thomas Street Church of Christ. Dorotha worked for McClellans, K.P. Construction, and retired from Civil Serviceat Altus Air Force Base with the Base Contracting Office. She was a member of the International Toast Mistress, the American Federation of Government Employees, and the Silver Saints.
She is survived by one daughter, Janis Winchester, and son-in-law, Tom Winchester, of Blair, Oklahoma; one son, Ronnie Lovett and daughter-in-law Ruth Kay Lovett, of Altus, Oklahoma,
Grandchildren, Jiminy and Greg Davis of Blair, Oklahoma, Shannon Lovett of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Tannah Bryce of Blair, Oklahoma, Jeremy Winchester of Flint, Michigan, Amy Winchester, of Oklahoma City, Two Great-grandchildren, Brandon Bryce of Blair, Oklahoma, and T. J. Byers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one sister, Lillian Brunson of Topeka, Kansas, and many nieces and nephews.
Dorotha was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Herman Steen and Rusty Steen, and three sisters, Lizzie Risinger, Flora Long. and Alice Kirby.
Funeral services for Dorotha Lovett will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday August 18, 2000 at Lowell Tims Chapel with Bill Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at the Hess Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Memorials in honor of Dorotha Lovett may be made to the Westview Boys Home in Hollis, Oklahoma.
