Dorothy E. Lane
Dorothy E. Lane went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 22nd, 2000 in Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Dorothy was born in Burkburnette, Texas to Claud and Gertude(Holley) Balthrop.
She graduated from Wichita Falls High School at the age of 16. She attended and graduated from Stamps Baxter School of Music in Dallas, Texas, and performed with the Rangers Quartet, James Blackwood and The Blackwood Brothers Group, and the Stateman's Quartet. She later graduated from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls Withy a degree in Speech Therapy.
On January 17, 1966 in Charleston, South Carolina Dorothy and Terrell G. (Terry) Lane, Sr. were united in marriage. Terry preceded her in death October 26, 1995.
She was a devoted wife, Mother and grandmother. Dorothy was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Altus.
She is survived by one daught6er, Rebecca Sue Stafford of Altus, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, Terrell Claude Allan Stafford of Georgia, Michael Lawrence Tim Stafford and wife Charity of Wichita Falls, Texas, Bambi Arista Dawn Stafford of Altus ,Oklahoma , John Henry Ervin Stafford, Jr. of Altus, Oklahoma: five great-grandchildren, Ashley Renee Stafford, Michael Heath Stafford, Michael Tim Stafford, Anthony Earl Ray Stafford, Sierra Lynn Stafford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claud and Gertude Balthrop and her husband Terry Lane.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 25, 2000 at 2:00 PM in the Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev,. David Chittenden, Sonny Tims, Bro. Murel Wise officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Family will have visitation Monday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
