Obituary for Dorothy Mae Luck
Dorothy (Roach) Luck, 99, of Hollis, OK, passed away December 25, 2024, in Hollis. Dorothy was born near Hollis on November 24, 1925, to Mack and Frankie Roach.
She attended school at Arnett and graduated as Valedictorian of her class in 1943. Dorothy trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of twelve, and her Spiritual Journey was a very important part of her life. She taught Sunday School for over 60 years, attending church at Dryden, Antioch, and Faith Baptist in Hollis. She was a lifetime resident of Harmon County.
Dorothy married (J.D.) Duard Luck in 1943 and moved around with the military the next few years. Upon discharge, they moved back to Harmon County to farm, settling in the Arnett community to raise their family. They have two children, Marilyn Keesee (George) of Midland, TX and Jerry Luck (Sondra) of Hollis. Faith and family brought joy to Dorothy's life daily.
Dorothy worked in various jobs while in California, Montana, and Texas, and later worked for 21 years as the secretary at Arnett School in Harmon County.
Dorothy is survived by 2 children, 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duard; her parents, Mack and Frankie Roach; and one brother and one sister.
The Luck family will receive friends from 5:00 p..m. - 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2024 at Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Faith Baptist Church, Hollis, Oklahoma with Pastor Randy Overstreet officiating. Interment will follow at Dodson Cemetery, Dodson, Texas.
Services have been entrusted to Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
