Dottie Faye Leamon, age 73, of Mangum, passed away early Sunday morning, February 20, 2011, at Grace Living Center, in Mangum.
Mrs. Leamon was born on October 4, 1937, in Muleshoe, Texas to Bennie and Alice (Wilterding) Bland. After graduating from high school in Muleshoe, she married Troy David Leamon on November 15, 1954, in Clovis New Mexico. Moving to Mangum several years ago, Dottie worked for a time as a drugstore clerk and later stayed at home full time to help care for her grandchildren, David, after retiring and later her great grandchildren. Dottie was an active member of the Epworth Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, reading and her daily devotionals and Bible study.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son, David Lynn Leamon, she is survived by two sons, Douglas Leamon and wife Angela of Amarillo, Texas and Danny Leamon and wife Debra of Mangum; three grandchildren, Michael Douglas Leamon and wife Susan, Misty Dawn Leamon-Webb and husband Ronnie and Robert Castillo and wife Meghan; eight great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Dottie Leamon will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Roselawn Cemetery with Pastor Shawn Laughlin officiating. Services are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
