Dovie Moody Osborn
Dovie Moody Osborn, a life-long resident of Oklahoma, died Thursday, January 21, 1993 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Saturday, January 23, 1993 in the Lowell-Tims Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Moody officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Mrs. Osborn was the first born child of J.T. and Wilma Provence on November 24, 1903, in Stonewall, Oklahoma. the family moved to the Altus area in 1927. She married Amos Osborn on April 6, 1929 in Wellington, Texas. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1987.
Before marriage Mrs. Osborn was a school teacher. Later, Mr. and Mrs. Osborn were area farmers. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Osborn is survived by sisters, Bessie Lula Matthews of Fresno, California; Lottie Smith of Altus, Oklahoma; brother in laws, Wallace Smith, Colton Matthews.
She was preceded in death by husband Amos Osborn, April 29, 1987; mother & father, J.T. and Wilma Provence; three brothers, Perry, Ben & Leon Provence.
