Dr. Allen Wayne Sweet, born April 2nd, 1942, in Prairie Grove, AR, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of profound impact and cherished memories. Raised in Oklahoma, he embarked on a remarkable journey of service and achievement.
After marrying Diane Sue Scott in 1960 and serving in the United States Navy, Dr. Sweet pursued his passion for psychology, earning his Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma State University. He later obtained his Doctorate. On August 30, 1974, married to Marcella Ruth Harris, whom he deeply loved and cherished.
A pioneer in biofeedback and hypnotherapy, Dr. Sweet's dedication to his profession transformed countless lives. His practice in Tulsa, OK, and beyond, touched many, earning him admiration and respect as an expert witness and advocate in courtrooms nationwide.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Sweet's zest for life was evident in his love for motorcycle racing, woodworking, and craftsmanship. He leaves behind a legacy of creativity, adventure, and camaraderie.
Dr. Sweet's memory will be forever cherished by his children, Debra Burdett and husband Lee, Michael Sweet and wife Makaylin, and Carrie Seet, along with his grandchildren, relatives, and a vast community of friends and colleagues.
A memorial service honoring Dr. Sweet's life will be held at Greer Funeral Home on Friday, April 26, 2024, followed by inurnment at Riverside Cemetery, Mangum, Oklahoma.
