BURNS
Dr. James H. Burns, age 54, of Altus, passed away Monday morning, July 14, 2014, at his residence, in Altus.
Jim was born in Pasadena, Texas, on December 18, 1959, to William E. and Geraldine E. (McCarty) Burns. After graduating from Jenks High School, in Jenks, Oklahoma, Jim graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Subsequently he moved to Kansas City, Kansas where he attended Cleveland Chiropractic College and became a Doctor of Chiropractic, graduating Cum Laude. In 1987, Jim began his practice, in Altus, where he served the community for the next twenty-seven years. On October 23, 2004, he married his wife, Connie, and together they worked his clinic, Burns Chiropractic and Compliance Drug Testing. He was a baptized believer in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, since age 10. He embraced all Christians putting their confidence in the blood of Jesus as brothers and sisters in Christ.
He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Burns. He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Burns of Tulsa; his loving and faithful wife, Connie, of the home; his children, Levi Tanner Burns, Reagan Era Burns and Jessica Alexis Stollard; two brothers, David Burns and wife Jean of Mustang, Edgar Burns and wife Vickie of Tulsa; two sisters, Molly Endley and husband Jerry of Broken Arrow and Gail Cochenour and husband Robert of Olathe, Kansas along with many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Dr. James Burns will be Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 1 p.m., at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating.
