Obituary for Edna Pearl Bennett
Edna Pearl Bennett, age 85, passed away November 9, 2004 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
She was born to Barry and Rose Ellen (Walkup) Thomas on May 1, 1919.
Edna married Tom Bennett on July 6, 1941 in Altus, Oklahoma.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, a volunteer at Jackson County Memorial Hospital for 30 years, worked several years at the Cinema, Plaza and Altus Drive Inn Theaters. She was also an Avon Representative for 30 years.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters, two brothers and daughter-in-law, Brenda Bennett. She is survived by one daughter, Sue Overstreet of Altus, Oklahoma; one son, Larry J. Bennett of Cushing, Oklahoma; two brothers-in-law, Ervin Petzold of Altus, Oklahoma and Mike Bennett of Amarillo, Texas; sister-in-law, Faye Jones of Altus, Oklahoma; one grandson, Thomas Overstreet of Greenville, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Services will be held Saturday, November 13, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Chapel, with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery.
