Services for Edyth Velma Trent, 94, have been scheduled for 2 pm Thursday, at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Mr. Trent was born January 25, 1901 in Luther, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Edward and Amy (Paine) Truax. She married D.H. Trent on July 25, 1925, and he preceded her in May of 1978. They had lived east of Altus for many years, having moved here in 1945 from Hammond, Oklahoma. Mrs. Trent was a teacher, high school principal, and a homemaker. She taught in several schools, including Durman, Brinkman, Liberty and Martha, Oklahoma. She was active in the Ozark Homemaker Club
Survivors include children; Anita Claiborne and Frank of Altus, Oklahoma; paul E. Trent of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Mike Claiborne of Altus, Oklahoma; Russ Claiborne and wife Tracy of Worcester, Mass.; David Claborne and wife Erin of Altus, Oklahoma; lon trent, Luke Trent, and Belva Riofuio, all of California.
Preceded in death by parents, husband D. H. Trent, May 1978, son, David H. Trent.
