Obituary for Effie Lee Myers
Effie Lee Myers age 96 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Friday, March 25, 2005 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
She was born
April 28, 1908 at Rains County, Texas to J.T. and Nannie (Pound) Whitwell.
On December 20, 1947 in Vernon, Texas Effie and Harold Myers were united in marriage. He preceded her in death on September 21, 1981.
Effie lived in the Altus community for the last eighty years. She worked at Terri's, Model-T and Surrey shop until she retired in 1985. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy Tims of Altus, Oklahoma, grandson Todd Tims of Norman, Oklahoma, granddaughter Tracy Tavares and husband Paul of Dover, Delaware; two great-granddaughters Meghan Allred and Paige Allred of Dover, Delaware. She is also survived by grand-nephews, Joe Holcomb, Jim Holcomb; two great-grand-nieces, Emily McKinndy and Alane Miller.
She is preceded in death b her parents, husband, one sister Pearl Holcomb.
Funeral Services for Effie Myers is scheduled for Monday, March 28, 2005 at 10:00 am in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eugene Foreman officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family of Effie Myers will greet friends Sunday evening March 27, 2005 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
