Ellen M. Stone
Ellen M. Stone was born November 29, 1919 at Rossville, Georgia . She died November 15, 1993 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She married Bud Stone February 17, 1937 in Hollis, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death November 3, 1977. She was the daughter of J.C. and Mary Hathaway. She had been a resident of Altus and Jackson County since 1978. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church and a member of the Jackson County Singers. She had been a a dietician in California for several years in conjunction with several hospitals.
Services are scheduled for 2 pm Friday at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. C.W. Parker officiating. Interment will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stone is survived by children, Jewell Stone of Altus, Oklahoma; Irby Stone of Riverside, California; sisters Bertha Benge, of Los Angeles, California; Helen Hathaway of Garland, Texas; seven grandchildren, Debra (Rick) Lovejoy, Victor Ray (Lynn) Lovejoy, Dallas Stone, Tina Stone, Dawn Stone, Kim Stone, Colleen Stone, four great grandchildren, Jeremy Robbins, Michele Lovejoy, Rickie Lovejoy, and McKenzie Ray Stone.
Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud Stone, 1977, two brothers, Clarence Parker and Alvin Hathaway, one sister Lois Day.
