Obituary for Elmer Gale Knight
Elmer Gale Knight “Buddy,” 78, of Blair, Oklahoma passed away at his home on November 14, 2020. Buddy was born on August 3, 1942 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Elmer and Corrine (Shaw) Knight. Buddy graduated from Reed High School. He married the love of his life LaQuita Wiseman on January 17, 1963 in Wellington, Texas. Of this marriage the two were blessed with three children: Steven, Jeffry, and Shalia. Buddy worked on the Railroad in Mangum in the early sixties and eventually worked at the Mangum Fire department. He retired from the Mangum Fire Department in February 1997. Buddy was baptized at the Sulpher Baptist Church in Reed, Oklahoma at a young age and later joined the First Baptist Church in Mangum. He enjoyed fishing, hunting arrowheads, coyote hunting, he loved watching bull riding, and coaching little league baseball. Buddy also loved to play dominos and spending time with his friends at Lyles shop. His family meant everything to him and spending time with them was the most important thing to him. Buddy will be remembered as the life of the party and so fun to be around. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Brothers, Harold Loyd Knight and Michael Wayne Knight “Mickey.”
Left to honor his memory is his wife of fifty-seven years, LaQuita Knight of Mangum, Oklahoma; Sons, Steven Dewayne Knight of Blair, Oklahoma, and Jeffry Ryan Knight and wife Sommer of Blair, Oklahoma; Daughter, Shalia Knight Willis of Mangum, Oklahoma; Brother, Royce Dan Knight and wife Donna of Clinton, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Buddy Dale, Amanda, Corey, Shelby, Angelica, Nathan, Abigail, Saige, Brooklyn, Reed, Caylin, Denny, Shanna and Jamie; Great Grandchildren, Parker, Morgan, Clint, Braden, Cameron, Kason, and Halston; Nieces, Kendra, Jacquie, Chanda, and Kelsey; Nephews, Dustin, and Michael; Numerous cousins, extended family members and friends.
