Obituary for Elmer Oris Pottorff
Mr. Elmer Oris Pottorff, and 83 of Headrick, died Sunday morning at his home of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services have been set for 3:00 P.M., Tuesday at Lowell Memorial Chapel, officiated by the Reverend Noel George. Burial will be in Altus City Cemetery under direction of Lowell Funeral Home.
Born October 12th, 1891 in Martinville, Indiana, he came to Jackson County in 1907. He was married in 1916 to the late Georgia Leonard at Altus. She died in 1963. He worked for the County of Jackson for some 27 years and until retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a Mason.
Survivors include: one son, Burl of Arlington, TX; two daughters, Maxine Morris of Headrick and Jo Drury of Altus; two sisters, Ester Clairborne of Odessa, TX and Bertha Norton of Mexico, MO;
one half-brother, G.W. Pottorff, Jr., Indianoplis, IN; one half-sister, one half-brother, Sybil Hatfield of South Bend, IN; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
