Obituary for Era Mae Selby
Era Mae Selby was born October 15th, 1908 at Headrick, Oklahoma. She died February 20th, 1994 at the Midway Park Medical Center in Desoto, Texas. She was the daughter of T.I. and Gertie (Conrad) McWhorter. She married David Clive "Bud" Selby January 28, 1928 at Memphis, Texas. Bud preceded her in death in November of 1993. She was a longtime resident of Altus and Jackson County, a member of the First Baptist Church and had worked at the Watkins Department Store for many years.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Interment will be at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home. The family of Mrs. Selby will greet friends at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. Monday evening.
Survivors include: three children, Dearl Selby and wife Glena of Tulsa, OK, Donald Selby and wife Ruth Ann of Desoto, Texas and Coy Selby and wife Debbie of Mesquite, TX; one sister, Mrs. Albert Rogers of Memphis, TX; six grandchildren, Keith Selby, Larry Selby, Gretchen Littlejohn, Kent Selby, Heather Selby and Shawn Selby; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, David Clive Bud Selby, November 5, 1993; one son; four brothers, John, Joe, Bob and J.B. and Leon McWhorter.
