Obituary for Ernest James
Mr. Ernest James, age 77, long time resident of Altus, died Tuesday at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services have been set for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday at Lowell Memorial Chapel, officiated by the Reverend Hoyett Lemmon and assisted by the Reverend Leonard Terry. Burial will be at Restlawn Cemetery under direction of Lowell Funeral Home.

Born September 13th, 1896, he was married at Winnsboro, Texas in 1917 to the former Virginia Mae Canaday, who survives of the home. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Additional survivors include: two sons, Cotton of Altus and Odis James of Dalhart, TX; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Benedict of Biloxi, MS; two brothers, Russell and Carroll of Altus; three sisters, Ruby Felty, Lola Mae Doyle and Maudine Dickerson, all of Altus; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
