She was born January 12, 1900 in Indian Territory, Oklahoma to William C. and Clora (Curley) Gilley. She had been a resident of Oklahoma since 1941 moving here form Rochester, Texas.
Funeral services for Essie Jewel Sirmons are scheduled for May 28, 1966 at 3:30pm in Tims Chapel, Altus, officiated by Rev. Burt Miller. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Essie Jewel Sirmons is survived by four sons, Fred Sirmons, of Altus, W.A. Sirmons, of Altus, David Sirmons, of Amarillo, Texas; Oran Sirmons, Amarillo, Texas; six daughters, Ruby Pearales, Altus, Oklahoma; Marie Martinez, Altus, Oklahoma; Oleta Ince, Lubbock, Texas; Juanita Lethgo, Uma, Arizona; Virginia Jones, East Grand Forks, Minnesota; Sur Peather, Knob Noster, Missouri. fourty-two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters, Callie Doughty, Fox, Oklahoma; Buelah Smith, Fox, Oklahoma; two brothers, Jim Gilley, Vernon, Texas, Omar Gilley, California.
