Obituary for Ethel Ray Rose
Mrs. Ethel Ray Rose, age 59, of 519 South Hightower, died Friday night at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services have been set for 2:00 P.M., Monday at the Central Baptist Church, officiated by the Reverend C. L. Abercrombie and assisted by the Reverend Carl McCoy. Burial will be in the Veteran's Garden at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.
Born July 10th, 1921 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, she was married at Frederick in 1967 to Ewell B. Rose, who survives of the home. She enlisted in the Women's Air Force and served during World War II, serving later in civilian status as a nurse for, in excess, of 15 years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and of the American Legion Post #44 of Altus.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Eldon W. Earl of Tulia, TX and Robert E. Bradley of Roff, OK; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Elaine Whitmore of Englishtown, NJ; one step-daughter, Mrs. Jean Davidson of Albuquerque, NM; two step-sons, Mr. Chelsia D. Rose of Del City, OK and Mr. Neal Rose of Riverside, CA; three brothers, Mr. Robert Ray of Tulsa, OK, Mr. Charles Ray of Mena, AR and Mr. Paul Ray of Denton, TX; one sister, Mrs. Lillie Bell Gray of Austin, TX; one grandchild; eight step-grandchildren; one great-step-grandchild.
The family requests contributions in lieu of flowers be directed to the Central Baptist Church.
