Etta Juanita Ranjel, age 77, of Mangum, passed away Tuesday morning, May 23, 2017, at Integris Southwest Medical Center, in Oklahoma City.
Mrs. Ranjel was born in Hobart, Oklahoma on September 9, 1939, to Lee Oren and Etta Zora (Dixon) Smith. Growing up and attending school in Hobart, Etta married Albert Ankney, Sr., and they lived in Roosevelt many years. A long time employee of Gibson"s Discount Center and TG&Y, in Hobart, she was preceded in death by Albert in 1993. On March 29, 2006, Etta married C.R. Ranjel and they lived in Roosevelt and Mt. Park before settling in Mangum in 2009, where she lived until her death. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; two grandsons, Wyatt Ankney and Tyson Ankney and one brother, Bill Smith, she is survived by her husband, C.R., of the home, in Mangum; one son, Albert Ankney, Jr. and wife Susan, of Mangum; seven grandchildren, Brittney Hagerman and husband Nate of Enid, Tim Elliott and wife of Houston, Texas, Stephanie Burr and husband of Oklahoma City, Stephanie Acamo of Mangum, Josh Carter of Elmore City, Michelle Roach of Mangum and Gate Burris; a step-daughter, Audrey Ranjel of Plainview, Texas; one step grand-daughter, Jada Ranjel along with many other relatives and friends.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Greer Funeral Home, of Mangum. A private family service will be held at a later date.
