Obituary for Eva Lois Brewer
Eva Lois Brewer, 74, of Eldorado, passed away on April 12, 2008 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Eva was born August 14, 1933, in Eldorado to George and Lois Smith. Eva attended Eldorado High School and then pursued her life-long ambition of becoming a nurse. She was a nurse from 1956-1976 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital where she helped countless patients in need. After she retired from the hospital, she worked briefly for Dr. Noble Ballard until her health declined. Eva has been fondly remembered through the years by many of her former patients and co-workers. She was a member of the Eldorado First Baptist Church.
Eva is survived by her mother, Lois Smith, Eldorado; daughter, Joy Whitlock and husband Mark, Altus; son, Danny Campsey, Bagwell, Texas; sisters, Paula Ledbetter and Ann Tinney, Eldorado; and brother, Bill Smith and wife Pam of Blue Springs, Missouri. Eva was very proud of her five grandchildren: Tangie Pappo, Altus; Melanie Mackenzie, Lubbock, Texas; Brian Whitlock, Plainview, Texas; J.B. Campsey, Bagwell, Texas; and Christen Campsey, Clarksville, Texas. Eva was also blessed with two great-grandchildren: Avery Joy MacKenzie and Arianna Campsey; and seven nephews and two nieces.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Eldorado First Baptist Church, with the Reverend Pete Wylie officiating. Eva Brewer will lie in state at Lowell-Tims Chapel in Eldorado, April 14, 2008 from noon until time of service. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
