Everett Lee Bryant, 80, of Altus died Friday at the Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City following a lengthy illness. Services are scheduled for Monday at 2:00pm at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel, 1100, East Tamarack Road. Officiating will be Rev. Boyd Whitehead assisted by Rev. Roy McDaniel. Burial will be in the Altus Cemetery with Full Military Honors under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Bryant was born September 7, 1910 at Henry, Virginia to Waller and Alza Bryant. He married Hazel Hinds June 6, 1957 at Vernon, Texas. They had been residents of Altus for 33 years. He was a Veteran of World War II and retired as a MSgt along with working for the Federal Government for many years. He was a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church and was a Mason.

Survivors include, his wife, Hazel Bryant of the home; one step-son; Billie Joe Tate and his wife Norma of Baytown, Texas; three brothers, Gray Bryant of Henry, Virginia; Glenn Bryant of Rocky Mountain, Virginia; and H. D. Bryant of Augusta, Georgia; one sister, Lucille Southern of Wal Cove, North Carolina; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
