Obituary for Faunett Coward
Frankie Faunett Coward from Eldorado, Oklahoma passed away on May 27, 2023 at Hardeman County Hospital in Quanah, Texas.
Faunett was born on April 18, 1935 to Thomas and Lillian (Darter) Bridges in Hollis, Oklahoma. She attended Arnett & Westview schools just outside of Hollis, Oklahoma.
Faunett married Doyal Coward in her parent's home on August 16, 1953 for a union of 64 years. They moved to Lubbock, Texas where Faunett was a homemaker, and they began their family. They moved to Eldorado, Oklahoma in 1961. She was a member of the Eldorado Church of Christ, and volunteered for numerous school activities for her children. She worked at the Eldorado Post Office as a postal clerk for 40 years before retiring in 2006. She was a proud mother of 5 children, a loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren, and elated great-grandmother of 9 great-grandchildren, with one on the way. She will be remembered for homemade chocolate chip cookies (of which no one can replicate), her love of babies, her famous tea parties with her grandchildren, and being a skilled seamstress. She considered her biggest accomplishment in life to be her family.
Faunett was preceded in death by her husband, Doyal Coward; her son, Steve Coward; her son-in-law, Robert Weaver; her parents, Thomas and Lillian Bridges; her brother, J.W. Bridges; sister-in-law, Verma Bridges; and brother-in-law, Wayne Haws. Her surviving family includes her daughter-in-law Sandy Coward and her & Steve's children, Micah and Jerusha Coward; Megan (Coward) and Kade Sanford with their children: Rhett, Lyla and Lincoln; Morgan (Coward) and Chris Simons with their children: Jace, Kendall and Emma; Kathy (Coward) Weaver; Ken Coward and his children Ashley Coward, Blake Coward, Cody Coward and fiance Whitley Virgil; Tena (Coward) and son-in-law, Roland Ferenczhalmy and their children, Nathan Ferenczhalmy, Matthew Ferenczhalmy and fiance Julia Leblanc; Lori (Coward) and son-in-law, Greg Strawn and their children Ryan and Kaitlyn Strawn with their children: Ellie and Sallie; Berritt Strawn and partner Tatiana Dawson, and Lilly Strawn; her brother, David Bridges; sister-in-law Judy Bridges; and her sister Lynette (Bridges) Haws, and numerous nieces and nephews.
