Obituary for Florence Letitia Claiborne
Florence Letitia Claiborne, age 47, of San Antonio, Texas passed away Monday, July 5, 2004 in an auto accident near Coleman, Texas.
She was born February 1, 1957 in Hilderberg, Germany to Raymond Dekle and Laura (Dial) Dekle Blake. Florence graduated from Tipton High School and was attending San Antonio Community College.
On July 6, 1978 at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, Florence and Rodney Wayne Claiborne were united in marriage. She had been living in San Antonio, Texas for the last 15 years. Florence worked at N.E. San Antonio School District as an instructor aide for Special Education children. She enjoyed reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Florence was a member of McArthur Park Church of Christ.
Florence is survived by her husband Rodney Wayne Claiborne of the home in San Antonio, Texas, one daughter, Monica Claiborne of San Antonio, Texas; her mother, Laura Blake of Altus, Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Edna Pearl Barefoot of San Angelo, Texas; three brothers, Lesley Dekle of Altus, Oklahoma, William Dekle of Belton, Texas, Wayne Smith of El Reno, Oklahoma; two sisters, Rhonda Overholser of Calumet, Oklahoma. She is also survived by one grandson, Jacob Alexander Claiborne of san Antonio, Texas and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Dekle in 1976, grandparents, one son Kevin Lee Claiborne, October 15, 2001.
Funeral services for Florence Claiborne are scheduled for Friday, July 9, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
