Floyd Bush, 79, of Altus, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus surrounded by his family.
Services are set for 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel.
Floyd was born to Sam and Bessie Bush on Jan. 29, 1935 at the family farm north of Olustee. He went to school at Victory and Altus Junior College. He married Marolyn Rogers on May 7, 1960 in Vernon, Texas. To this union, one son was born, Mike. Floyd was a tile contractor for many years, did carpentry work, drove a grain and cattle truck, and tended to his rental properties. He enjoyed watching old westerns on TV, guns, wood working, playing with Dog, spending time with his grandsons, and using his talents to serve the Lord. He was a Christian and a longtime member of the Elm & Hudson Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife Marolyn of the home; son, Mike Bush and wife Penny of Altus; grandsons, Brennan Bush of Altus, and Garrett Bush and wife Aimee of Lawton; and great-granddaughter Ellesyn. He is also survived by sisters Leona McCall of Blair, and Neoma Jarvis and husband Holland of Lubbock, Texas; brothers-in-law Kenny Rogers and wife Sharon of Altus, Billy Rogers and wife Lawanda of Altus, Larry Rogers and wife Connie of Rogers, Ark., Eddie Rogers and wife Erma; sisters-in-law Margie Hebrank and husband Andy of San Antonio, Texas, Ronda Thomason of Lawton, Brenda Hinkleman and husband Bob of Pardeville, Wisc., and Carol Hebrank and husband Chuck of Breman, Ind.; several nieces and nephews, and other family members including David Bush whom he was very close to.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Aaron Michael Bush; brother, Loyd and sister-in-law Mattie Bush; brother-in-law, Norman McCall; mother and father-in-law, Leo and Dortha Rogers; brothers-in-law Jimmy Rogers, Rudy Thomason, and Bobby Rogers; and a special aunt and uncle, Howard and Etta Bush.
