Obituary for Francis Ma Carter
Mrs. Francis (Ma) Carter, age 88, long time resident of Eldorado died Tuesday at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services have been set for 3:00 P.M., Thursday at the Eldorado First Baptist Church, officiated by the Reverend Don Ladner. Burial will be in Eldorado Cemetery under direction of Lowell Funeral Home.

Born September 14, 1891 in Alvarado, Texas, she was married in 1913 to the late Ephriam Howard Cain. He died in 1923. In 1925 she was married to Joshua Jonathan Carter and they operated Carter's Cafe in Eldorado, being well known as Josh and Ma, for the following 27 years.
He preceded her in the early 1950's.

Survivors include: one son, Tommy Cain of New Baden, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Beth Hutchinson of Eldorado, Mrs. Cathryn Fowler of Altus and Mrs. Ephella Glasgow of Los Gatos, CA; one step-daughter, Mrs. Faye Carter Donaghey of West Columbia, Texas; one step-son, Mr. Edmond Carter of Blythesville, AR; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
