Frank W. Preston, age 78, of Altus died at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital Friday December 19, l997. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 1997 at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Bill Osborne, Assisted by Ed Lobaugh. Burial will follow at the Bell Cemetery in Odell, Texas under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Frank was born January 18, 1919 near Eldorado, Oklahoma to Walter Mar Preston and Julia McMullen Preston. He married Essie Mae Thrash February 2, 1942 in Vernon, Texas. She preceded him in death in March 1979. He later married Edith Clowdus August 1, 1985 at Sunray, Texas. Mr. Preston had lived in Jackson County most of his life and was a member of the Wilbarger Street Church of Christ in Vernon, Texas and attended the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ in Altus. He was a retired Farmer and Rancher and a Veteran of World War II where he served in he Army. He was a member of Masonic Lodge-Yeldell #196 and was an avid golfer and member of the Elks Golf and Country Club.
He is survived by his wife; Edith Preston of the home. Three Children; Robert Preston and his wife Karen of Olustee, Oklahoma, Donna Bynum of Oklahoma City Oklahoma, and Letha Reed and her husband Tommie of Vernon, Texas. Two Step Children; Linda Sanders and her husband Gene of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Larry Clowdus and his wife Judy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. One Sister; Dorothy Houston of Hillsboro, Oregon. Also surviving are Seven Grandchildren and One Great Grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by; His parents, Four Brothers and Four Sisters.
