Obituary for Frankie "Lucille" Holsey
Frankie "Lucille" Holsey, age 88, longtime Altus, Oklahoma resident, passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at her home in Altus.
She was born February 7, 1931 in Elmore City, Oklahoma to Allie and Elva (Robertson) Chester. She was the eldest child of thirteen and assisted in raising her siblings at the age of five. She worked in the fields from a young age. In the fields is where she met her one true love her husband Roy A. Holsey. They were united in marriage on May 11, 1953 in Roswell, New Mexico. They shared fifty-four wonderful years together. The Holsey family made their home in Altus, Oklahoma. She was a long standing member of the Altus First Baptist Church. Lucille enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Altus United Methodist Quilters Club.
Lucille is survived by one son: Wayne Holsey and his wife Mary of Duke; one daughter: Sue Vaughan and her husband Wendal of Stillwater; grandsons, Heath Holsey, Chad and Tiffany Braker, and Grant and Samantha Braker; granddaughters; Lauren Holsey, Tammy and Mike Lamb and Jennifer and John Earls; great-grandchildren, Kreighton Holsey, Ali Earls, Lanee Earls, Garrett Earls, Kristian Lamb, Hannah Lamb, Emma Braker, Cole Braker, Eden Braker, Ellie Braker and Tate Braker, five siblings and a host of other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy A. Holsey, seven siblings, her parents Allie and Elva Chester.
Donations maybe made in honor of Lucille to the First Baptist Church of Altus Youth program or the First United Methodist Church Youth Program.
The Holsey family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday February 27, 2019 at Lowell - Tims Funeral Home, Altus, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Lowell Tims Funeral Home, Altus, Oklahoma, Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery.
