Elmo Brinkman was born June 19, 1918 at Olustee, Oklahoma. He died November 2, 1991 at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital. He married Fern Little August 28, 1938 in Prairie Hill, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death August 5, 1987.

A prominent Jackson County farmer, he had served as President of the Oklahoma Wheat Growers Association, was a member of the Oklahoma Wheat Commission having been appointed to the Commission by Gov. George Nigh, he had served as Secretary-Treasurer of the United States Wheat Associates, and was currently serving as President of the Jackson County Farmers Union. He was a member of the Duke Methodist Church and was a 32nd degree Mason having received his 45 year pin.

A memorial has been established in Elmo Brinkmans honor to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. He was a life long resident of Jackson County.

Services are scheduled for 2 pm Monday November 4, 1991 at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Elbert Shumaker and Rev. Noel George officiating. Interment will be in the Prairie Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Mr. Brinkman is survived by his children, Freddie Reid Brinkman and Kitty of Duke, Oklahoma; Eddie Paul Brinkman and Donna of Duncan, Oklahoma; brother Edward Brinkman of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters Ophelia Street of Altus, Oklahoma; Velvia May Watts of Temple, Texas; two grandchildren, Kevin Brinkman, Kelly Brinman and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Brinkman was preceded in death by his wife Fern Little Brinkman, his mother and father.j
