Obituary for Gary Dale Wilson
Wilson
Gary Dale Wilson, 62, of Wheatland, Oklahoma, went to be with our Lord on
August 3, 2009. He was born September 8, 1946, in Deese, Oklahoma to Easley and Ada Mae (Muse) Wilson.
Gary began his career in law enforcement serving as a police officer in Altus,
Oklahoma in 1969. He furthered his career by serving the State of Oklahoma. He worked for the Department of Transportation beginning in 1974 and retired from the Oklahoma Tax Commission as Personnel Director in 2002. Gary never met a stranger and never forgot anyone's name or details of their meeting. Smile and laughter from the heart, his gusto for life, willing to always lend a helping hand, no matter the need or time of day, are just a few of the legacies he leaves for all of us who knew and loved him. His passion for horses and restoring old cars made for memorable occasions for all involved. Gary never did anything half way and no deed was ever completed until all aspects of restoration and remodeling were completed to perfection.
Gary viewed himself as an ordinary man and always remained humble. He took pleasure in enjoying his family and friends whether it meant traveling to car shows north of Oklahoma or taking his grandsons to the South Texas Gulf. Those who knew and loved Gary always viewed him as an extraordinary man with a kind heart, kind words. and kind deeds towards others. our wish is for others to learn from the legacy he has left and live life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Brooke M'Layne Wilson; brothers, Cecil Ray Wilson, Frankie Bob Wilson and Paul Easley Wilson; and his sister, Pauline Wilson Grider. Survivors include his daughters, Michele Funk and husband Scott, Leeanne Carder and husband Eddy, and Andrea Truelove and husband David; sons, Christopher Wilson and wife Lora, Gray Tyler Wilson, Tobyn Jon Wilson and Terry Drury Wilson; Sister Linda Wilson Heuckendorf and husband Dick; grandchildren, Nick Funk, Lindsey Funk, Cody Carder, Chase Carder, Taylor Truelove Corbin, Tanna Truelove, Austin Truelove and Chance Walker; great granddaughter, Caroline Carder; his special lifelong friend, Carol Kiser; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.
