Obituary for Gary Randall
Gary Walter Randall was born on May 31, 1942 in Hollis, Oklahoma and died Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Clinton, Oklahoma rehab center.
Gary was born to Walter and Lois (Castleman) Randall in Hollis, Oklahoma. He grew up in the O.M. community and lived on the same farm from birth to death.
Gary went to Arnett school all 12 years where his love of baseball and basketball began. After graduation from Arnett in 1960, he played 2 years semi-pro baseball with the Borger Braves.
He returned to the O.M. community where he and his dad bought a service station in Dodson, Texas. He married Carolyn Sexton on April 25, 1965 and they have enjoyed over fifty-six years of marriage together. Gary and Carolyn settled at the family farm and they began their life in farming and ranching and raising their family. In 1998, he became county commissioner for district 1. He retired in 2011. Gary was a life-long member of the Church of Christ.
Gary and Carolyn have three children: Stephanie Arkley, Mark Randall & wife Rachel and Gary Lynn Randall and wife Sara. Four grandsons: Luke Randall, Rowdy Randall, Colt Randall and Clay Randall, who were the love of his life.
Gary's hobbies were gardening and following all the grandsons' sports. He coached many years as a little league coach and girls' softball teams.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, one infant sister; Catherine Randall and a son-in-law, John Arkley who passed away in 2021.
The family of Gary Randall will greet friends for a time of visitation and fellowship on Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Harmon County Funeral Home in Hollis.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Hollis Church of Christ Sanctuary.
Interment at the Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis, Oklahoma will follow services.
