A Christian businessman, John had a strong work ethic and was very involved in the Tabernacle Baptist Church as a youth leader. John enjoyed fishing and working on the family farm, but his most favorite times were spent with his family, whom he dearly loved, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents as well as four sons, Gayle Jr., John, Lynn and Michael Johnson, he is survived by his wife, Anna, of the home; two sons, Retired USAF COL Bob Johnson and his wife Janis of Yorktown, Virginia and Charlie Johnson of Altus; four grandchildren, Haley Johnson of Altus, Cassie Johnson of Altus, David Johnson and wife Meagan of Yorktown, Virginia, and Michael Johnson of Chicago, Illinois; four great grandchildren, Jadon Holmes, Austin Adams, Charlie Ann Adams, and Christopher Johnson; one sister, Sharon Maguson and husband Deon of Lincoln, Nebraska; two brothers, Walter Creps and wife Brenda of Lincoln, Nebraska and Jimmy Creps and wife Rita of Lincoln, Nebraska along with Darie Myers and many other relatives and friends.
