Gene Lawrence Butler was born March 6, 1931 at Three Rivers, Texas. He died November 2, 1993 in Jackson County. He married Annie Mae Cooper April 3, 1954 at San Angelo, Texas. He served in the United states Air Force over 21 years before retiring in 1969. He was a long time resident of Headrick residing there since 1960. He served with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and during Viet Nam. He was a life member of the VFW of Altus Post #4876. He was a long time member of the NRA.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 pm Thursday at the Headrick Cemetery with full military honors. Lowell-Tims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include mother, Carol M. Churchill of Three Rivers, Texas; wife Annie Mae Cooper of Headrick, Oklahoma; children, Gay Lynn Bailey and Joe Lynn of Headrick, Oklahoma; George Lawrence Butler and Mary Ann of Altus, Oklahoma; Roy William Butler II of Headrick, Oklahoma; sisters; Mary J. Pounds of San Angelo, Texas; Barbara Gerard of Detroit, Michigan; five grandchildren; Michael Beach, Billy Beach, Timothy Butler, Christopher Butler, Dayna Kimball.
Preceded in death by father, Roy William Butler, brother, Bernie Butler
