George Emmett Starks age 76 of Altus, Oklahoma died May 3, 1966 at his home in Altus. He was born March 7 1890 in Anthony Kansas to L.S. and Mary Frances (Holcomb) Starks. He married Fanny Hazlet June 2, 1915. He had been a resident of southwest Oklahoma since 1928. He was a retired/manager of J.C. Penny, member of the Chamber of Commerce, Kawnis Club an elder of the Elm & Hudson Church of Christ for 25 years.
Funeral services for George Emmett Starks are scheduled for May 5, 1966 at 2:00pm in the Elm& Hudson Church of Christ officiated by Wallace Gooch. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
George Emmett Starks is survived by his wife Fanny of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Bill C. Irby, San Antonio, Texas; Mrs George Bernard, San Antonio, Texas; three granddaughters, three sister, Elizabeth Campbell, Davis City, Iowa; Mrs E.A. Phillips, Wichita Falls, Texas; Mrs G.A. O'Neal, Oklahoma; two brothers, Wallace Starks, Anthony, Kansas; Lon Starks, Anthony, Kansas;
eleven nieces and nephews.
