Obituary for George Luther "Luke' Southall

George Luther (Luke) Southall age 85 of Blair, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, September 24, 1997 in Altus. He was born December 18, 1911 at Blair, Oklahoma to the late William Albert and Mary Etta (White) Southall. Luke was a life long resident of Blair. On July 22, 1950 he and Lois Galena Butchee were united in marriage in Oklahoma City. Luke was a farmer most of his adult life. He was also a steel worker during his earlier adult life. He was an outdoorsman where he enjoyed riding horses and quail hunting. Luke was along time member and past president of the Blair Riding Club, a board member and past president of the Blair Farmers Coop.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday September 27, 1997 at 11:00am in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Spencer and Ardron Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Survivors include wife Lois Southall of the home; children, Peyton Southall of Blair, Oklahoma; Windle Southall of Blair, Oklahoma; Cecil Southall of Madera, California; sisters Bethie Kelly of Ft. Valley, California; Nellie Markum of San Capistrano, California; Doyle Norton of Mira Loma, California; Vera Watson of Altus, Oklahoma; a host of nieces and nephews and many friends, a very special friend and care taker; Jackie Drone.

Preceded in death by parents, William A. and Mary White Southall, three sisters; Clara Carter Inzer, Effie Winters, Oleta Haynes; one brother, Alva Southall
