Glen Forrest Turner, 74, Altus, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Glen was born on March 30, 1951, in Waterloo, Iowa to Lloyd W. and Rilla M. (Brewer) Turner. He grew up as military child and graduated high school from Waipahu High in Waipahu, Hawaii. After high school, he enlisted into the United States Air Force. Glen primarily worked as an aircraft mechanic and Crew Chief. He served during the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Shield and was stationed at Travis, Grand Forks, and Hickham Air Force Bases. Glen retired after twenty years as a Master Sergeant. He would continue serving as a civil service aircraft mechanic for Altus Air Force Base for another twenty years before fully retiring. In Glen's spare time, if he were not working, you could always catch him with a pole in his hand, three dollars in his pocket, ready to go fishing with anyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lloyd Turner, Jr. and Bradley Turner.
Survivors include his three sons, Christopher Turner (Tina), Michael Turner (Bridget), and Timothy Turner (Christine); four grandchildren, Anthony, Jackson, Cullen, and Tybee; and many friends.
A private family memorial service with military honors will be held at a later date at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) in Honolulu, Hawaii. Local arrangements and cremation are under the care of the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory.
