Obituary for Gracie Letah Evans
Gracie Letah Evins, age 92, of Eldorado, passed away Saturday, December 26th, 1998 in Arlington, Texas . Mrs. Evins was born July 23rd, 1906, in Eldorado, Oklahoma to William Ferris and Virginia Elizabeth (Barnett) Skinner. She had lived in Eldorado all of her life and was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church.
Services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 1998 at the Corinth Baptist Church with Rev Mark Farr officiating. Interment will follow in the Eldorado Cemetery with Lowell Tims Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Letah married Charles Obidiah Evins on July 19, 1925 in Eldorado and Mr. Evins preceded her in death December 19, 1975. Together they farmed in the Jackson County area.
Mrs. Evins was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; and two daughters, Barbara Ellen Evins and Mary Charlene Edmundson; 10 brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Virginia Morris and her husband Fred of Arlington, TX; two sisters, Faye Yousey of Eldorado, Oklahoma and Sue Blaha of Klamath Falls, OR; six grandchildren, Mary Lynda Johnson, Anita Anne Horton, Joan Ellen Vick, Frederick E. Morris, Jr., Mary Carlyle Krebs and John Ray Edmundson III.
Also surviving are 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
