Grayson Howard Baker, age 20, of Granite City, Illinois and formerly of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the St. Louis University Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
Grayson was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on November 18, 1996 to his parents Robert "Bob" Baker and Heather (Von Tungeln) Baker. Grayson grew up in Altus, Oklahoma and in Okinawa, Japan where he met his wife Breanna "Bre" Erland and they were married on May 13, 2016 in Vernon, Texas. Grayson and family moved to Granite City, Illinois where he worked as a deck hand loading grain onto barges at the Mississippi River for the Louis Dreyfus Company. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Altus and skate boarding, fishing, working on his corolla, gaming, and making people laugh were some of his favorite things to do. But most of all his family was the center of his life and he loved his wife and daughter very much.
Preceded in death by his great grandfather, Bill Mask; and great grandfather, J.D. Von Tungeln; great grandmother, Loretta Von Tungeln his grandfather, Robert Lamar Baker; father-in-law, Richard Erland; and his aunt, Amber Smith; Grayson is survived by his wife Bre Baker and their daughter Lyla Lee Baker of the home; parents, Bob and Heather Baker of Altus, Oklahoma; his two sisters, Savanah Brooke Baker of Frederick, Oklahoma; and Riley Rebecca DaRice Baker of Altus; his brother, Robert Blake Baker and wife Kelcey of Hawaii; grandfather, Louis Von Tungeln of Cooperton, Oklahoma; grandmother, Tena Von Tungeln of Martha, Oklahoma; grandmother, Becky Baker of Enid, Oklahoma; grandparents, Ronnie and Lois Smith of Yukon, Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Kelly Erland of Granite City, Illinois; sister-in-law, Antonia Cordova of Illinois; brother-in-law, Richard Daniel Erland of Granite City, Illinois; as well as aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, other family members and many friends.
The family will greet friends at visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus, Oklahoma with Reverend Bruce Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Hobart Rose Cemetery in Hobart, Oklahoma under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
