Halam E. Southerland age 78 of Altus, Oklahoma died October 1, 1969 at Baptist Memorial in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born August 11, 1891 in Pendleton, Tennessee. He married Hattie Anderson April 10, 1915. He had been a resident of southwest Oklahoma since 1928. He was a farmer.
Funeral services for Halam E. Southerland are scheduled for October 5, 1969 at 2:30 pm in Tims Chapel, Altus, officiated by Ray Easley. Burial will follow in the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.

Southerland is survived by his wife of the home; six sons, Everett Southerland, Chickasha, Oklahoma; Marland Southerland, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Robert Southerland, Togoo, North Dakota; Zack Southerland, Califronia; Johnny Doyle Southerland, Burkburnett, Texas; Armond Southerland, Oklahoma; two daughters, Ruby Sealf, Altus, Oklahoma; Lela May Cirevas, Elgand Air Force Base, Florida; twenty one grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Mason, Dallas, Texas; Mrs. Floye Pogers, Plano, Texas; one, Taylor, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five step-grandchildren.
