Obituary for Harold David Hegwood
Dave Hegwood, age 62, a longtime resident of Granite, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Quartz Mountain Medical Center in Mangum.
Dave was born in Jacksboro, Texas on July 6, 1951 to parents, Carl Jefferson and Bertha Irene (Issaccs) Hegwood. In 1993 Dave married Margaret Ann Brownfield in Vernon, Texas and they were married for over 20 years before his death. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing, playing poker every Friday night, and playing dominoes. Dave loved his family and took care of them and he always enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially his grandkids.
Preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Bertha Hegwood; three brothers, Ed Barber; Freddy Hegwood; John Barber; and his nephew, John "Johnny Mac" Yingling; Dave is survived by his wife Margaret of the home; one son, Jimmie Christian of Hobart; three daughters, Stacy Hayslip of Altus; Misty Gilreth and husband Mika of Granite; Shelly Christian of Altus; one brother, Ray Barber of California; two sisters, Carol Combs of Altus; Margie Keithley and husband Dean of Missouri; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; his close friends, Lisa and Don Lane of Duke; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Memorial services will be at a later date under the direction of Greer Funeral Home-Granite.
